Club lederhosen Electro De Merde’s edition is celebrating the glorious sounds from the new beat era with and some new wave and a dosis of psychedelic dance. Lets’s rrrrrrock to the beat!

Boris Scorpio (NL) A.k.a Gameboys a Gogo who is usually armed with his gameboy gear or modular synthesizer, but this time he will be spinning his precious collection of 7-inch new beats.

Dionysius (NL) has been spinning electro and 80’s music as a resident on parties such as Electronation, We love 80’s [Paradiso], After 80s [Patronaat] and Inrichting [Silo/Kalenderpanden/OT301].

Our last venue, The Bunker at the NDSM canceled the night. Because “local goverment” did not agree with the content of the night, FUCK THAT!!!! It is censorship on cultural activities, FUCK THAT!!!! I called the people from “Op De Valreep” and told them the story. They where so kind to give us a space to do this night. Come all over to the Op De Valreep for our Noise Demo! The legendary absurdist band/music collective “Wevie Stonder” is coming to Amsterdam and SOTU is hosting the night. Get ready for a crazy show with ground rolling, flying fish, butt artwork/plugs, tango dancing and much more weirdness.

Wevie Stonder
Irresistibly wonky sonic surrealism from the sources of the collective unconscious. Public participation, movies, wigs and grouphugs are sometimes part of the set. Erratic “left field” electronics, with a deeper and stranger plundering of the anarchist tradition of inspired madness with bizarre pieces of musical kitsch. Musical clichés and chaotic soundscapes are welded together and supported by toy pianos and broken trombones and rubber bands.

Listen To This, Sinfonia Rotterdam & Gonzo Circus, i.a.w. Amsterdam Dance Event Playground. The 4D sound system is used at the 19th of October, arranged in the entrance hall of the Muziekgebouw, on an area of 12 x 12 m with 48 speakers in 16 columns. The speakers send music from the bottom, top and side. The effect – standing in the room – provides a completely new experience of spatial listening. Daytime demonstrations for curious professionals (14-16 hours) and in the evening, after the iPad concert, musicians of Listen to This play live sets in 4D (22.15-01.00 hours). Among them the globally acclaimed Flemish / Berlin techno producer Peter van Hoesen, Marko Ciciliani and Lauren Thomas, aka Qindek. Also performances by Red Stars over Tokyo, Every Bolt Rumbling, Gonzo Dj’s Martijn Vennekatte & The No.

We can’t wait for this one! For more than 7 years Lemon Community has been organizing parties and concerts, broadcasting radioshows and hosting a festival area every now and then… time for a birthday bash! During the Amsterdam Dance Event they go on until 05:00 in the rave cave OT301 with a massive line-up and rave mayhem! insane live shows from:

Rooie Waas a band with gestures in sound, or noise, organized in a manner closely related to more traditional pop-genres. Drvg Cvltvre is  another one of them alter ego’s by Vincent Koreman, this time he’s presenting doom-disco. Matto Frank is Frank Schouten (a.k.a. Hakki Takki): keyboard, mic, cool edit, sampling, software, fx, improvising. In February 2009, Matto Frank travelled through China. He recorded sounds with a zoom recorder with a faltering microphone. What immediately struck him was the huge presence of pop music and other synthetic sound in public space.  “It seems in China they enjoy it to play it as loud as possible. Music is distorted from the boxes. In combination with microphones it creates sometimes huge feedback, but nobody seems to be fascinated by this.” He decided  to capture the noise around him ” so raw and blunt as possible”. These recordings on” China” he mixes his own work, ambient tracks that create rest areas inbetween the hectic Chinese soundscapes.

‘ China” is a quirky trip through China after the Olympics of 2008, remains are still to be heard of all sorts of new hospitality of the once closed communist country: conversations with curious people who pass by, exuberant welcome hymns of copied western popmusic. China is a country in rapid change. Matto Frank documenting the change and let his thoughts occasionally stray towards calmer waters.

Plattegrond is proud to announce a collaboration with a fine selection of Amsterdam organizations to create an adventurous music program for new festival SOTU (Sound Of The Underground). The festival takes place from the 11th of May until the 13th of May 2012 and has the focus on alternative & independent music culture. With noise, indie pop, psychedelia, avant-garde, global bass, improv jazz and underground dance. The program for SOTU Festival is formed together with curators from these local organizations: Plattegrond, Hallo Gallo, Bomb Diggy, Club Lederhosen, Toztizok Zoundz, Schijnheilig, Lemon Community, Future Friday Features, Experimental YetZet, A/V Club, De Peper, Kinderpret, Wonderland, Subbacultcha! Tickets on sale from 21st. March. (Day ticket €10.-)

Chant & Chicory is the new side project of our Bahk.
They have made their debut performance at Plattegrond’s 5th. anniversary, last May and they will be playing at the Prakpodium during State X New Forms. All members come from a different background but share the love for artists such as Current 93 and  Coco Rosie.
